A Word About the Advocate

Counsel, counsellor, and a steady hand for those navigating the law.

"To practise law is, before anything else, to listen - patiently, completely. The case unfolds only when the client feels heard."

Adv. Mahabir Singh Shekhawat (Khudaniyan), son of Sh. Hanuman Singh Shekhawat, hails from the Jhunjhunu region of Rajasthan. He was admitted to the Bar in 2005, enrolled with the Bar Council of Rajasthan, Jodhpur, under registration number R/807/2005, with effect from 27th August 2005. Since then, his chamber has been a fixture at the Pilani Court, where he has appeared in over a hundred matters - civil, family, criminal, and a wide range of dispute resolutions.

His academic foundation pairs commerce with law - a Master's in Commerce (M.Com) followed by a Bachelor's in Legal Studies (LLB), both completed in 1992 from Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat. It is a combination that lends his practice a particular strength in matters involving property, contract, succession, and financial disputes, where commercial reasoning meets legal procedure.

On 22nd November 2024, he was appointed and authorised by the Government of India as a Notary (Regn. No. 26319), through the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice. The authorisation extends to the entire Pilani area for a period of five years - a recognition that takes his service beyond courtroom advocacy to the daily legal needs of citizens, businesses and institutions in the region.

What clients return for, however, is rarely the credentials. It is the conviction that their matter is being handled with care, that their counsel will tell them the truth even when it is inconvenient, and that the chamber will fight every battle worth fighting - and just as importantly, settle every dispute that ought to be settled. Over fifty family disputes have been resolved through patient mediation under his guidance, often saving relationships that the courtroom alone could not have preserved.

The Philosophy of the Chamber

Six principles that guide every brief

I · Listen First
The Client's Story

Every brief begins with a conversation, not a fee discussion. The facts must be understood in full before any strategy is drawn.

II · Honesty Above Comfort
The Truthful Opinion

A client deserves a candid view of their case - its strengths, its weaknesses, and the realistic outcomes - even if it is not what they wish to hear.

III · Settle When Settling Serves
The Quiet Resolution

A litigation pursued for ego is a litigation lost in spirit. Where settlement preserves dignity and delivers justice, it is preferred.

IV · Prepare Beyond the Brief
The Studied Argument

Procedure, precedent, and the human reality of the matter - every dimension is studied before the bench is approached.

V · Stand With the Client
The Steady Counsel

From the first hearing to the final judgement, the client is never alone in the corridor of the court.

VI · Respect the Profession
The Honoured Practice

The legal profession is a public trust. Every case is handled in a manner that upholds the dignity of the court and the Bar.
